Karen grew up in West Palm Beach , Florida where she was schooled at a small Baptist elementary school while attending every activity offered at her large Baptist church. She then went on to a Baptist college ( Palm Beach Atlantic University ) where she graduated with a degree in King James English (okay, just regular heathen English).
After graduating, she left for the mission fields of Haiti , Jamaica , Dominican Republic , India and Australia ready to convert sinners and change hearts.
However, her world views and philosophies began to slowly change. She began to study her beliefs more in-depth, along with reading the writings of great thinkers.
Her writings explore faith, heritage and several other taboo subjects.
She received her Master of Fine Arts in Fiction Writing and Literature at Bennington College , VT.
She now lives with her husband and chilluns in the crux of the Bible Belt where she teaches Expository Writing to vulnerable freshmen at Middle Tennessee State University .
